I haven’t done a monthly update in a while, so figured I should!
What I’m writing:
-Final proofreading of One Night is happening now! I can’t believe it. I also can’t believe I survived my first editorial letter. The whole thing went a whole lot smoother than I expected. I don’t know why, but I expected the manuscript to be ripped to shreds. Will do a more in-depth post about this in the future.
-Still editing The Other Side of the World which will probably be ready for publication in early 2017.
-Also considering bringing a manuscript out of the vault and editing it. Also considering a sequel to One Night.
What I’m reading:
–His Right Hand by Mette Ivie Harrison. I don’t usually read mysteries, let alone mysteries with a religious slant, but this one is compelling stuff. My mother loaned it to me. It’s about a Mormon woman who gets caught up in this transgender murder mystery. Very well written and holding my attention!
–The Good Neighbor by Amy Sue Nathan. I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Nathan at the Chicago Writer’s Workshop. She gave a talk about dealing with negative self-talk and naysayer (aka haters). She was so personable I purchased her book and got it signed.
What I’m watching:
–The Godfather. Can’t believe I made it 30+ years without seeing this epic saga, but it happened. We started watching it last night after my husband found out I’ve never seen it. Can I just say I am all for a young Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino!
That about does it for this update. If you enjoyed this post, sign up for my email list.
